Julie was born in Leeds. She graduated with a degree in Music and German from Oxford Brookes University, took a PGCE at Goldsmith's University and then an ARCM from the Royal College of Music. She continued her studies of both vocal technique and vocal pedagogy with Janice Chapman and enjoyed a busy career in oratorio and is a sought after soloist for many of the major oratorios including Verdi, Brahms, Mozart Requiems, Carmina Burana, Elijah, Messiah, Beethoven's Mount of Olives, Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle and Stabat Mater and Vaughan Williams Benedicite. In April 2013 she was the soprano soloist for the Verdi et al Messa Per Rossini, in its second only UK performance at St. Alban's Abbey.
In 2014 she was introduced to Dame Josephine Barstow who recognised her potential as a dramatic soprano and she began a new chapter in the dramatic roles in opera - winning widespread acclaim with her first outings as Leonore Fidelio (OperaHerts) and Helmwige DieWalküre. (Berwick Festival Opera)

Julie became interested in a career in Choral Direction after joining London Oriana Choir as their Resident Vocal Coach. She is the Choral Director of North Middx Federation TG Choir, Northwood Choral Society and leader of Harrow Choral Society's Training Choir Singing for Starters. She studies Conducting with Sarah Tenant Flowers, Manvinder Rattan and Amy Bebbington.
